Be Arty - Be Healthy, Gardening
Have a go at organic gardening in the Arts Centre's very own garden. A chance to work with others to grow your own healthy vegetables - to eat!

Photography Project for Adults 

The Be Arty Be Healthy Project are working in collaboration with Outlook to deliver this photography project which is designed for people with experience of mental health issues. The project will lead to an exhibition at Craigmillar Library 10 - 17 October to celebrate the Mental Health Arts and Film Festival.

Painting with Bill
Learn to paint with CCA's resident artist, Bill Jessiman. If you've never tried painting before - here's your chance to give it a try in a relaxed and informal setting. Bill will talk you through the steps to producing an original oil painting.

Music Workshop
An informal session for anyone over 18 who enjoys music - a chance to jam, get tips from more experienced musicians or simply listen and join in when you feel comfortable.

Keyboard, drums and guitars are available to use.

Women’s Multi Art Group
A new group for women - a chance to do arts and crafts or drawing and painting in a sociable setting.

Be Arty - Be Healthy, Lunch and Creative Taster
Enjoy a healthy lunch then take part in a creative taster session and experience the benefits to your health. During July there will be short 'creative' walks to a variety of interesting local places,

Lunch at 12.30pm and walk from 1.30pm - 2.30pm
(In conjunction with the Thistle Foundation Health and Wellbeing Project)
 
Open Studio with Tutor
Have you ever wanted to learn the basics of painting or drawing? If so the Tuesday Open Studio is for you.

You can do your own thing or get assistance to unlock your creative talent from our volunteer tutor.
Tuesdays, 1pm - 2.30pm, £1

 
The Drammie Dodgers
Craigmillar’s drama group for all aged over 8 years meets every week to play drama games, do improvisations and rehearse for performances.

Tuesdays, 6.30pm - 8.00pm, £1

Wednesday
Open Studio
A chance to do your own art work in the company of other like minded people in a supportive environment, basic materials are provided.

There’s also a chance to take part in exhibitions throughout the year.

If you’re lucky you’ll be entertained while you create by Craigmillar’s very own Elderly Brothers!

After School Art Club

For children aged 4 - 12 - here's your chance to experiment, learn from others, be creative and above have fun.

Open Studio
Another chance to drop in and do your own art work or discuss ideas for creative projects with others and receive help to turn dreams into reality!

Bored with the telly on a Friday night?

Then why not experience some real live Craigmillar entertainment while boosting your
confidence and developing your vocal chords into the bargain.

Arts and Environment Project

The project works in local schools and with local children and young people’s groups to raise an awareness of the environment using the arts as the tool.

A major part of their work has been making animated films these can be seen on youtube at: Cmartsandenvironment

Look out for the crazy plastic bottle top collection points throughout the community where you can leave your bottle tops - these tops will eventually be assembled together to produce a “top” piece of recycled art!
